Skills

  • Rust/Go/Python: Consider myself proficient in listed languages, having implemented libraries, backend systems and personal projects in them.
  • Cryptography: Programmable cryptography is going to change the web.
  • Web services: Have created production-ready web services at scale for organisations as well as startups. I have experience in designing and implementing monoliths and mini-services, multiple database systems in different domains.
  • Product: Have always enjoyed developing systems with a product lens, and use it to expand my thinking holistically.

Traits

  • Polyglot: Like agents, see every tech as a tool, or as a means to an end. Can work on backend, infra, research, product, customers, analytics. Like to work across disciplines, and not identify myself as just a “programmer”.
  • Implement: Have implemented data structures, advanced algorithms, cryptography, mathematical libraries for production workloads.
  • Research: Tackling uncertainties with a research mindset has helped me solve problems effectively. Combining academic and market research uncover many unknowns, and leads to push for novelty.
  • Open Source: Strong believer of open source, open learning. It’s the single biggest collaborative force humanity has created that transcends any boundaries.

Improvements

  • Mathematics
  • HPC: Something that I don’t know much but hope to learn. CPU (extremely parallel, SIMD), GPU architecture
  • AI
  • Compilers

Personal

  • Music: A music fanatic at heart. Love to sing. Give me anything in {classical, hard, progressive, psychedelic, pop, funk, death, black} {rock, metal}, folk, sufi ghazals to classical music. My favorite musical artist are Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Pink Floyd, Parvaaz, Claude Debussy, Mastodon, and so many more.
  • Botany: I love gardening, caring for plants, reading about what they like, and growing them from seeds.
  • Yoga: Practice it everyday.
  • Running: Trying to run a half-marathon.
  • Cooking: Oh, I can cook good food too.
  • Reading: used to read a lot back in bachelor days, into short informative substack-style essays now (blame ADHD).
